David Mamet doesn’t make enough movies. There, we’ve said it.
His latest feature, Redbelt, looks like classic Mamet-style intrigue and manipulation galore, this time in the world of televised martial arts (which always seemed kinda suspicious, anyway.) It’s cool also to see Mamet veterans Ricky Jay, Joe Mantegna, and Rebecca Pidgeon again - as well as perennial Next Big Thing Chiwetel Ejiofor playing the honest man descending into the Mametian snake pit.
The film opens in wider release this weekend, so if you actually don’t care What Happens In Vegas you can see this at your local arthouse instead.
